Water washes away the fat and cleans your insides at the same time. Drinking plenty of water enables your kidneys to function correctly, and if you do not drink enough your liver cannot convert fat into energy as it is forced to take over the filtering of toxins. Drinking enough water also increases energy levels. If you do not drink enough water your body retains what little water you intake. This is called water retention, which elevates blood pressure. The best way to stop water retention is to gradually start drinking more water, which also has the benefit of making you feel less hungry. Some symptoms of dehydration could be slight confusion, headaches, stomachaches, joint pain, hunger after eating, fatigue, dry skin, constipation and darkened urine. We recommend you drink approximately 1 litre of water for every 20 kilograms of body weight. Make sure you drink plenty of water during physical activity, but make sure you dont drink too much immediately prior or with a meal as it may weaken digestion. When you drink more water you will initially go to the bathroom more often, but your body will soon adjust. In many urban areas tap water contains fluoride, chlorine and other contaminants, which can cause health problems. If this is the case in your area, it would be better to drink bottled water. The human body is made up of approximately 75% water, so it is extremely important to drink plenty of it. Nothing can hydrate like water, so drink up. |
