Tupperware Fundraising & Fundraiser Support by Lisa Timko, Corporate & Scholastic Fundraising Specialist

The Tupperware fundraising program is quickly becoming the fundraiser of choice for America's schools. Tupperware offers strong brand name recognition and a lifetime warranty on everything they manufacture, making this fundraiser one of the best fundraising programs available to schools and nonprofit organizations.

Tupperware offers an exclusive fundraising catalog featuring just over 100 items, most of which are exclusive to the fundraising program. Prices start at only $5 with the average product running around $20. The catalog changes annually in January and then it is slightly modified again in the fall in time for the winter holiday season.

It is not uncommon for product fundraisers to offer 40% profit on fundraising sales. Tupperware matches this profit margin and adds free shipping when the school or organization sells $400. Unlike other fundraising programs, Tupperware does not have a sliding profit scale. Whether the organization sells $500 or $5000, the profit margin remains at 40%. Look for special promotions on the Tupperware website, too, as you will occasionally find they are offering an additional 5% profit bonus when you meet certain restrictions.

When you are ready to begin your fundraiser, Tupperware will ship a fundraising kit containing all of your necessary materials. Included will be catalogs, a customized seller instruction sheet, collection envelopes, order forms, and the paperwork necessary to submit your orders to Tupperware for processing.

A personal Tupperware rep will be assigned to your account when you register and will be available to assist you throughout the course of your fundraising event. Tupperware also provides toll-free support during regular business hours.

Tupperware recommends you conduct your fundraiser within a 3-week timeframe. Less than that does not give your students enough time to reach their circle of influence; more time will not be productive as the students will lose interest.

As with any fundraiser, keep the students motivated by offering incentives. It is not recommended that you offer "top seller" prizes but rather offer raffle prizes. This will allow more students to qualify for a prize resulting in more motivation to sell on part of the students. Usually, top seller prizes are awarded to the same students year after year. This approach to student incentives is not effective in boosting morale, or sales.
